Talybont on Usk has four pubs which serve good quality food:
The Star Inn
The Star Inn offers a good selection of real ale and food to tickle your tastebuds .The Star has a large riverside beer garden and, during the winter, big log fires.
The Traveller’s Rest
This is a restaurant and the chef if widely known for his freshly prepared traditional and more contemporary dishes, plus lighter meals. Bookings required.
The White Hart
On the edge of the canal, the White Hart is an old coaching inn with a large bar, big screen TV, and beamed dining room. Food is served all day.
The Old Barn Tea Room
A short drive away, but well worth the trip, is this restored 18th century barn with spectacular views which offers a selection of home cooked food, light lunches and delicious afternoon teas.
There's also a lovely cafe in the Talybont Village Store a couple of minutes stroll from the School Annex, which is well worth a visit. The Store also offers a takeaway service and will happily prepare a picnic for you.
